As a child, our family would watch the original Star Trek show. I was only a little kid, but science was already a favorite show. We would catch the Mutual of Omaha series; any Jacques Cousteau specials; National Geographic specials... and the Star Trek show. And there was good old Leonard Nimoy playing Spock (left in picture). Analytic, scientific, smart, and of invaluable assistance in getting the Enterprise and its crew out of whatever dilemma it had gotten itself into (I think that was Captain Kirk's job description). Thank you Spock for making science cool. You will be missed. Leonard Nimoy passed away today at the age of 83.
